Keeping Sutton Moving Forward
Local Carshalton resident, Paul Scully has been explaining to Londoners how Boris has been delivering for Sutton residents over the last 4 years:
"Like many, I have kept a close eye on my spending over the last few difficult years. Boris freezing his share of the council tax for three years in a row has been noticed and is very welcome. Just by cancelling the daily delivery of 40 copies of the Morning Star to City Hall, Boris saved several thousands of pounds each year; money that could be better used to make residents’ lives in Sutton just a little easier.
"I commute from Carshalton to London on the train each day. The obvious down side to the ‘Oysterisation’ of the rail network is the widening of the use of that terrible piece of jargon. But that’s easily outweighed by the sheer convenience of being able to tap in and out for my trains as well as the bus and tube. And I’ll be glad when the bendy bus that greets me a little too closely when crossing the road outside Victoria Station has gone in just a few days’ time.
"Travelling around Sutton, I can see several examples of where Boris has helped improve infrastructure across the borough. Residents in North Cheam are keen to follow Wallington by having their town centre improved through investment from the Mayor.
"It's important that the progress we have over the last few years is not put at risk; That's why I'll be voting to keep London heading in the right direction next May."
