Boris Improves Quality of Life In Sutton
Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, has been detailing the work he has undertaken since being elected in 2008 and in particular, for work he has delivered here in Sutton
London is more than just the City and its famous landmarks. More than its museums, theatres, palaces, taxis and red buses. It is home to some 8 million people. You live, work and socialise across London’s 32 boroughs – you make them tick. You give Sutton’s neighbourhoods, from Worcester Park to Beddington, their unique identity. It is these distinct areas that make our great capital such a rich and diverse city. Unlike the previous Mayor, I’m working to give all your boroughs - not just Zones 1-3 - my attention. From Hillingdon to Havering, Barnet to Bromley, Richmond to Redbridge, I am your Mayor.
Since being elected in May 2008 I have worked hard to deliver for Sutton:
Quality of Life
- Created 38 green spaces for Sutton residents to grow their own food
- Planted 482 street trees after cancelling Ken Livingstone’s propaganda sheet The Londoner
- Delivering the Olympics and Ensuring a Lasting Legacy
- 50 Sutton residents are receiving low-cost teaching to become coaches
- 8 organisations have received funding to offer free coaching
- So far, the Mayor has funded 5 sports participation programmes in Sutton
