Conservative colleagues have called in the decision to sell off Wentworth Hall at a substantial discount to the market value, so that it can be decided by all 54 councillors rather than a handful of LibDem councillors based on the recommendation of a committee that meets in private.

In a decisive blow to Liberal Democrat dreams to wreck our democratic system with the Alternative Vote, 35,003 Sutton residents (67.4%) voted No compared to 16,930 (32.6%) who voted Yes. Our local results very closely tally with the national picture which put the Yes vote at 32.1% and the No vote at 67.9%. Turnout was 38.9%.
