Get involved - become a local Councillor
Get involved - become a local Councillor
There are many local people, with local knowledge, who can use their skills to the advantage of all of us who live in the Borough.
Local Councillors are drawn from the community and receive an allowance for the time they spend governing Sutton.
The local Conservative Party wants to plan for the next administration, and is looking for people to get involved in this exciting and rewarding task. We want to involve a cross section of our local community and are inviting people who feel they could make a contribution to make contact.
In the first stages, we will invite you for an informal chat and this will give us the opportunity to explain what this commitment will involve.
Political experience and involvement is not important. To be a Conservative Councillor you must of course support the aims and objectives of the Conservative Party, but we need a cross section and not a political elite if Sutton is to be governed well in the future.
Please consider becoming a member of that team.
The next local Government elections are in May 2010, allowing plenty of time for new candidates to become familiar with the role and the opportunity ahead.
